Description:
The pipeline suspension bridge with Y-shaped towers in Gabersdorf was built according to a patent by Waagner-Biro. The pipeline bridge has a span of 80m and can be crossed by foot on a catwalk. The static system is a folded cable wall structure, i.e. a pretensioned bearing system supporting load in both horizontal and vertical direction. It consists of two folding wall structures arranged in Y-form each including an upper carrying cable, the suspender cables, and the lower tensioning cable.
